The aerial photograph below shows how the physical development over the years – there have been many physical changes even since the aerial photograph was taken.
In 1974 New Hope began as a Missionary Training Centre and continued to function as such until 1999. Also in January 1990 the Trust began its humanitarian work. This has mainly focused in Eastern Europe providing emergency relief, ongoing supplies of humanitarian aid and the rebuilding of infrastructure.
The growth of the humanitarian work has resulted in the Trust buying several trucks that collect donated goods across the North East of Scotland and make the long journeys to and from Eastern Europe. A 24,000 sq. foot warehouse is used to sort and store the aid with the lower level of the warehouse set up for household goods, furniture and textiles that are not able to be sent overseas which are resold or recycled. This along with our delivery service provides a unique and popular service to the people of the North East. The Trust also operates a charity shop in Aberdeen.
In 1986 The Trust began a child care facility known as Panda Child Care providing places for children from birth to 14 years of age. Although involved in children and youth work since its inception, in 1998 the Trust began MEGA Kids Club and Youth Nightbase. Both services offer a supervised, safe environment for children from Primary to Secondary school age in a contemporary high tech setting making the facility unlike anything in the North East of Scotland.
The Headquarters are located on the edge of Peterhead (the largest town in Aberdeenshire), and with large premises the Trust offers full conferencing and catering facilities to businesses and organisations in the area along with our very popular Coffe House which is open Mon – Sat.
